Why US?
all those things you didn'tknow you cared about
Not Every Breeder fits Every Need
Its always easy to say "ofcourse you should get a puppy from us, what are you thinking!" The reality is there are a lot of breeders and not every breeder is right for every home! we all have such different goals and specialize in so many different things within the breed! Poodles are one of the most truly versatile breeds and it means we get to really hone in on traits and things in our lines and specialize! For instance, we tend to specialize in Service dog and Alert dogs as a program. We aim to keep an over all versatile program but our heart and soul is in dogs with jobs. Because of this we focus heavily on temperament and solid mentally stable dogs. we focus on trainability and on ability to problem solve and work on their own. We focus on health and long term stability including checking in on how joints are forming and long term holding up. We dont sacrafice form for function, we make the form work for us by building with quality and always looking toward the future. We also tend to specialize in the fading gene lines, Silver most notably. While we dont overlook other colors or breed based on color it is our little niche and we like it here. what that means for you? We have time in those things that brings a lot of knowledge and information with it which helps you get the best start in things like understanding where to start and how and what to look for. It also makes support from us that much better!
Not Every Dog Should be Bred
Seems like a simple concept right? Breeders pretty much all agree not every puppy is going to be breed quality. What I feel sets us apart from that is sometimes we select a dog, put tens of thousands into working, training, trialing, proving and testing the dog and in the end, we still choose to not breed them. Why? Not every dog needs to be or even should contribute to the population, and that's ok.
We aren't here to get rich, we are here because we believe in these dogs and what we are doing. Sometimes timing is never right. Sometimes, we just don't think they are an improvement to the breed over another dog. Sometimes they simply would be happier not being a breeding dog and all of that is ok. Constant re-evaluation is key to a healthy program.
Meet Some of the RHI
Team!
We have an open communication policy
We aim to literally leave our inbox, DM,PM, Text and phone open for our puppy families whenever and for whatever. Dog life can be a lot. Having support is one of the best gifts you can give your future self! Does your support have support? Ours does! We are lucky enough to have not just great vet teams, trainers and continuing education backing us, but other breeders we can turn to when we just don't have all the answers. This goes both ways as we always keep in contact so we know if any problems arise in littermates and can make sure to keep others informed of potential hazards.
